Like no other election law in Europe, the Electoral Law in Spain discriminate vote of classes and the leftist parties that represent them. Our electoral system is less proportional. There is a very important gap between the popular vote and the distribution of seats in the Congress of Deputies. Last March, for example, IU-ICV received nearly a million votes, and instead only got two seats. The representatives of the Left rarely are able to obtain a parliamentary majority even though almost always a majority of voters vote for the left.
